If you are a teen suffering from acne I can help...
If you or your teen suffer from acne, I can help. Thankfully, there is a wide range of options for different varieties of Acne and skin types. At Platinum Image Services I can examine and recommend a treatment, or combination of treatments, for your unique needs.
In addition to medical treatment there are things you can do daily that will help to minimize the effects of acne.
Acne Treatment Tips
1. Wash twice a day and after sweating with the medical grade facewash I recommend. Perspiration, especially when wearing a hat or helmet, can make acne worse, so wash your skin as soon as possible after sweating.
2.Use your fingertips to apply a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser. Using a washcloth, mesh sponge or anything else can irritate the skin.(do not over exfoliate or use a clairisonic this just moves bacteria around and can push it further into the skin.)
Be gentle with your skin. Use gentle products, such as those that are alcohol-free. Do not use products that irritate your skin, which may include astringents, toners and exfoliants. Dry, red skin makes acne appear worse.
Scrubbing your skin can make acne worse. Avoid the temptation to scrub your skin.
3.Rinse with lukewarm water.
Shampoo regularly. If you have oily hair, shampoo daily.
Let your skin heal naturally. If you pick, pop or squeeze your acne, your skin will take longer to clear and you increase the risk of getting acne scars.
Keep your hands off your face. Touching your skin throughout the day can cause flare-ups.
Stay out of the sun and tanning beds. Tanning damages you skin. In addition, some acne medications make the skin very sensitive to ultraviolet (UV) light, which you get from both the sun and indoor tanning devices. Using tanning beds increases your risk for melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, by 75 percent. Use the Platinum Premium Airbrush Tan in a can if you need a glow or look red from acne. Its natural and better than clogging the pores with makeup.
4. Tone the skin twice a day every time you cleanse this will help to ph balance the skin and prepare it for the medical grade treatment.(needeling at this point may be necessary if severe acne scars are present.)
5. Apply treatment with a brush make sure to cover problem areas well and to clean the brush each time you use it.
6. Apply moisturizer and wait 5 minutes and apply medical grade sunblock.
